Thank you for your interest in serving as Soleil, the SoLAcc mascot or a member of the Spirit Squad!
This is a fun and exciting opportunity to represent the spirit and energy at the heart of SoLAcc. As you consider stepping into this important role, please take a moment to review the eligibility requirements outlined below. It’s important to ensure you meet all criteria before moving forward.
Eligibility Requirements (Based on Costume Size Constraints):
To qualify for the costume, individuals must:
- Have a waist size of 38 inches or less
- Be between 5'7" and 6'2" in height
- Wear a men’s shoe size between 10 and 12 (approximately women's size 11+)
These requirements are typically non-negotiable because mascot suits are designed to fit snugly to preserve proportions and ensure mobility.
Health & Physical Fitness Guidelines:
Mascot performance is physically demanding. To ensure safety and effectiveness, candidates should meet basic health and fitness standards:
Cardiovascular Fitness
The suit can get hot and restrict movement, so a good level of aerobic endurance is important (e.g., being able to briskly walk or jog for 20+ minutes without exhaustion).
Hydration and Nutrition
- Stay hydrated before and after wearing the suit.
- Avoid heavy meals directly before performing.
Joint & Core Strength
- Strong core, back, and leg muscles help maintain balance and support the weight of the costume.
- Good flexibility in the shoulders, knees, and hips is also beneficial.
No Major Respiratory or Heart Issues
- Due to restricted airflow and elevated internal temperature, individuals with asthma, heart conditions, or heat intolerance may be at risk.
Time Limits in the Costume:
Typical duration inside a mascot costume:
- 15 to 30 minutes at a time is standard.
- After each session, a cool-down break of 10–15 minutes is highly recommended.
- In hot weather or during high-activity performances (e.g., sports games), shorter intervals may be necessary.
- Maximum recommended total time per day: Around 2–3 hours, broken into multiple short sessions with adequate breaks.
