Financial aid ineligibility can be appealed if you have suffered undue hardship. In order for an appeal to be considered, your circumstances must meet at least one of the reasons listed below. In addition, supporting documentation for your hardship must be submitted with this appeal. Please indicate below which situation(s) best applies to the academic difficulty you experienced.*

I have had a severe injury, medical condition or injury and I am attaching a signed and dated letter from my physician which verifies the medical issue and treatment that I have experienced and/or a copy of my accident/injury report.A member of my family died and I am attaching a copy of their death certificate and/or their dated obituary from the newspaper or funeral home.I have experienced a traumatic life-altering event such as a fire, flood, hurricane, etc, and I am attaching a copy of my (or my parent's) insurance claim, FEMA application, American Red Cross letter, or a signed and dated letter from my landlord which itemizes the damage sustained to my home.I have experienced scheduling conflicts at my place of employment and I have attached a letter from my supervisor, on company letterhead, detailing my scheduling issues.I have experienced legal issues such as divorce, separation, or arrest and I am attaching copies of my court/legal documents.I have earned a previous degree and I am pursuing a dual or second degree or certificate. SoLAcc's new ConexED software makes it much easier for students to connect with faculty, advisors, and student support services. If your appeal is approved, you will be required to set up your ConexED student profile and complete the pre-appointment form. Additional requirements will be given and monitored via the ConexED portal upon appeal approval.

To ensure that an appeal is reviewed, students must submit their appeal no later than two weeks after the start of the ineligible semester. Appeal decisions typically take 2-4 weeks. It is the responsibility of the student to pay all outstanding balances on his/her account while waiting for an appeal decision. Regardless of the appeal decision, students are responsible for any fees incurred. All incomplete appeal forms, including those with missing or insufficient documentation, will be denied. All approved appeals will have conditions established which must be met to be considered for future aid. No more than two appeals per academic year will be accepted.
